Getting started you will need:
DUNS Number
Dun & Bradstreet Number (DUNS). Must have a DUNS number in order to accomplish the CCR. This can be obtained without providing financial information. Call 1-866-705-5711 for immediate assignment of a DUNS number. A minimum 24 hour period after assignment may be necessary before registering in the CCR. You should validate your DUNS data at www.dnb.com prior to accomplishing the CCR.
Taxpayer ID
Also known as EIN or can be your Social Security Number
Central Contractor Registration Contractor database searched by federal agencies and prime contractors to solicit offers. The CCR MUST be accomplished in order to receive contract awards from federal government agencies. Can be accomplished at www.ccr.gov or GCAP can accomplish this for you (call our nearest office for assistance.)
Cage Code
Commercial and Government Entity Code. Assigned with Central Contractor Registration (CCR) application. A five position code that identifies companies doing or wishing to do business with the Department of Defense. The code provides for a standardized method of identifying a given facility at a specific location. Currently used by the Department of Defense. MUST have a CAGE code to do business with the Department of Defense. There is no fee for assignment of a CAGE code.
SBA Profile
A profile extension of the CCR. Can only be accomplished after the CCR registration is complete. Register on this database at www.ccr.gov. at the same time you accomplish the CCR.
Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT)
All federal contractors must be signed up to accept EFT. This can be accomplished by registering in the CCR. If you do not have a banking institution contact the CCR Help Desk at www.ccr.gov for instruction on how to proceed.
